Paul's Story
Life
My first public musical performance took place at San Gorgonio High School in 1969.
I became a songwriter in 1974, and have had over 30 songs recorded by various artists, the most recent by the European group, Incognito, who took my song, "Alway There," co-written with Jazz artist Ronnie Laws, to the top ten on the British charts. My Dance anthem, "Such A Good Feeling," went to number one on Billboard Magazine's Dance Charts in America. I have been blessed to have had songs recorded by Side Effect, Miki Howard, Wayne Henderson (The Crusaders), Jazz great Billy Cobham, and Dance divas Martha Walsh and Joycelyn Brown.
After moving to Dallas, in 1994, I joined the band of ex-James Brown saxophonist, Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon and traveled on tour through Texas, performing for the rich and famous. After moving to Las Vegas in 1998, I was invited to become the new lead singer for the legendary vocal group of the 50's, The Platters. As a member of The Platters, I began doing what I thought in school I would never do, traveling. I have performed for audiences around the world including those in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South America, the Hawaiian Islands, Fiji, the Virgin Islands, and Europe; as well as audiences in nearly every state in the USA.
In January of the year 2000, I traveled to Australia, to record a duet CD with Australian artist Mary-Anne Sterling. The CD was well received in Australia.
I was signed as a solo recording artist on the Sony record label in 2001. My first solo CD is scheduled for release in September of this year.
